Arrival of Vaishhnavism in Manipur

The new king and arrival of Shantidas Goswami

In 1709 AD, Pamheiba became the king of Manipur after the death of King Charairongba. Under the rule of Charairongba, trade and cultural relationship flourished between Manipur and Burma. He even gave the hand of his daughther Chakpa Makhao Ngbabi to Taninganwe, the ruler of Burma. Pamheiba also known as Mayamba-a in the royal chronicle of Manipur assumed the title Garibniwaz. He had 19 sons by 10 Ranis.

In 1716 AD, a Vaishhnava preacher, Shanti Das Goswami, from Bengal arrived in Manipur. He came from Narsingh Tilla Akra of Sylhet across the hills of Jirigha. He along with his two disciples, Bhagavandas and Narandas first arrived at Langthaband about 7 km south of Imphal. Some account gives the year of his coming as 1711 or 1720. Nothing is sure about the early life of Shanti Das Goswami. It was him who first suggested that Manipur is the Manipur of Mahabharat where Arjuna met Chitrangada, the only daughter of King Chitrabhanu and left a son Babrubabhana. There are also theories to suggest that the Manipur of Mahabharat is in present day Orissa.

King Garibaniwaz welcomed and accommodated well the visitors in the palace. Shantidas spoke against the primitive religion of Manipur and told the king that there was an inward voice from indigenous God Sanamahi to call upon him to Vaishhnavise Manipur. His persuasive influence is fully described in the book “Sanamahi Laikal”. The king was first at first stiff opponent of the new religion. Finally Shantidas succeeded in influencing the king to a considerable extent. Garibaniwaz accepted the new religion and made up his mind to vaishnavise Manipur. According to Bhagyachandra Charit, he was initiated into Vaishnavism by one Gopal Das Guru, a follower of Gauriya Vaishnavism (later became Ramanandi) on Mera (Sept-Oct) 1717 AD. The epithet ‘Maharaja’ was first used as one of the royal titles by him.

The adoption of Vaishnavism and suppression of indigenous religion

The king started spreading the new religion in vast scale and suppressed the indigenous religion systematically with the help of his son Shyam Sai and brother-in-law Haobam Akong Senapati. He build temple of Sri Krishna on Wednesday, 22nd Thawan(July-Aug), 1722 and a temple for Kalika on Thurday, 7th Lamda (Feb-Mar), 1716. The practice of burning dead bodies and bone-gathering ceremony (Aasti) were introduced. On 20th Lamda (Feb-Mar), 1724, Sunday, he helped the ceremony of burning the bones of his forefathers with great escalation on the bank of the Ningthi river. His daughter was the first Manipuri woman to have visited Vrindavana,
On Wednesday, 11th Phairen (Jan-Feb), 1725, he ordered to dig a huge tank known as Ningthem Pukhri at Wangkhei Leikai. Images of Krishna and Kalika were kept in a temple near the tank. Under his directives, images of Rama, Lakhsmana, Bharata, Shatrughana and Sita were installed in Ramji temple by the side of Nigthem pukhri. On last day of Sajibu (March-April), 1726, the king stopped the rearing of pigs in every house of Manipur.

The king decreed to bury nine Umang Lai (Sylvan Deities) under a big tree in Mongba Hanba , later became Mahabali temple, near the bank of Imphal river on Saturday, 10th Kalen (Apr-May), 1726. He again broke the images of Sylvan Deities including Panthoibi, Sanamahi, Soraren, Huidrom pokpi etc on Monday, 10th Inga (May-June), 1726. He confiscated the ornaments of the deities and swept away the temples. Worshiping of Hanuman started from Wednesday, 11th Hiyangei (Oct-Nov), 1729 at Mongba Hanba. Shyam Sai was initiated with the sacred thread at Lilong about 10 km to the south of Imphal, on full moon day, Wakching (Dec-Jan), 1729. The king was against the use of Meitei scripts, song and prayers. At the instance of Shantidas Goswami, he introduced Bengali scripts and substituted Meitei songs by Bengali songs.

Hindu god replaces some of the indigenous places of workship. For instance Baruni hill (Nongmaiching*), Garok Mahadeva, Thongam Mondum etc. became a place of worship for Hindu god Maheva. There are historical evidences that indigenous God were worshipped in these places much before arrival of Hinduism.

*Nongmaiching (Nong=sun, mai = facing, ching= hill)

Puya Mei thaba

The king collected around 120 rare manuscripts and destroyed in the bon fire by a Ramandi (Vaishnavism sect) preacher with the help of the king at the historic place of Kangla on 23rd Wakching (Dec-Jan), 1729. Out of the 120 books 6 of them were prove to be fireproofs. They were (1) Nonglon (2) Pakhamba Nonglon (3) Simkhai Naoyom (4) Yambi Thiren (5) Taoroidi Naoyom (6) Sagok. Thus Manipur has been deprived of many valuable religious and historical books through Garibaniwaz’s fanatism.

Some of the parvas of Mahabharata and some cantos of the Ramayana were translated into Manipuris in between 1717 to 1748. Most of the pundits used Sanskrit words in writing Manipuri books. Moreover Lakshmi Gharit was translated from Bengali into Manipur. The authorship of this book describing the character of good wife was attributed to Garibaniwaz.

Resistance to the new religion

There was a great opposition from his subjects when Garibniwaz tried to introduce the new religion. Khongnangthaba was among the scholars who have given prominent opponent to the king’s decree. He along with his followers and other scholars secretly guarded their manuscripts and often concealed them underground. The people became unsatisfied with the oppressive measures of the king and his preachers. They publicly opposed the policy of the king and conspired to kill the king and preachers and his followers.

JC Hudson in his book mentioned that “Religious dissent was treated with the same ruthless severity as was to political opponents and wholesale banishment and execution drove the people into acceptance of the tenets of Hinduism. "

Another stiff resistance was offered by the Lois (the outcasts) and decline to take up the new religion. There was also another alternative theory that suggests that the Loi because of their lower status are not allowed to take up the new religion which is supposed to be precious. Whatever theory it was, the adoption rate was very poor among the lois. One can still see the old indigenous practice being followed in the erstwhile loi village such as Andro, Sekmai, Kakching etc.

Death of Garibniwaz and Shantidas Goswami

Garibniwaz nominated Ajit Singh as his successor. The king under the influence of his mother expelled Garibniwaz and Shayam Sai from Manipur. They finally went to Burma. Ajit Singh conspired to kill his father and elder brother on their return journey to Manipur from Burma.
The king Garibniwaz, Shantidas Goswami, Kishar Sai (king’s son) and 17 others were murdered by Tolel Tomba and his party – the emissaries of King Ajit Sai on 26th Poinu (Nov-Dec) 1757 at Tongphahithaten, when they returned to Manipur from the capital of Burma.

I was sitting in my history class. Next to me was an old friend.
She was as beautiful as a rose and had long gorgeous hair and i wished she was mine. But she never looked at me that way.

A week passed like this and then one day on Wednesday after my history lecture when the bell rang she came up to me to and ask me a few questions from the lecture. I helped her out and she gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked off. I wanted to tell her that I wanted her, but i am just too shy and in reality i just don't know why.

In our junior grade we slowly slowly came closer to each other and we became good friends. One day she called me and told me that she broke up with her boyfriend and she was broken up in tears. She asked if i can come over. I went to her house and we sat together and watched an oldie and romantic movie. I watched her gracious movements and her beautiful eyes, but she never looked at me that way. She looked beautiful even while she cried. Later that night I was leaving and going back to home and then she came closer to me and said "Thanks for consoling her and kissed me on the cheek. I wanted to tell her that i wanted her, but i am just too shy and in reality i just don't know why.

After some days she became normal and everything was going fine. It was the home coming dance time and I couldn't find a date for the dance she came up to me. We promised each other to be company for each other if we're by ourselves. So we went together. We went as best friends, not as lovers. We danced very slowly, but we still kept distance. She never looked at me that way.

I dropped her at house, she smiled and said that she had a great time. She kissed me on the cheek. I wanted to tell her that i wanted her, but I am just too shy and in reality i just don't know why.

Time flew, and it was graduation already. I watched her perfect body and her beauty up to the stage for her diploma like angel. I wanted her to be mine, but she never noticed me. She never looked at me that way. We threw our hats in the air and hugged. She kissed me on the cheek and said that I am her best friend. I wanted to tell her that i wanted her, but i am just too shy and in reality i just don't know why.

Time passed away like a rocket and I came to know that she was getting married and had sent me a marriage invitation card. I decided to go to hers precious and beautiful occasion. I sat in the marriage hall. She just got married. She was getting in her car about to drive to her new life, with someone, I wish it was me! She looked up at me and smiled! And said you came! she was joyous. She kissed me on the cheek and her husband pulled her into the car in anger. I wanted to tell her that i wanted her, but i am just too shy and in reality i just don't know why.

Life passed by. I was at her funeral. She lived a frustrating life. Next to her coffin there were some books that her friends were told to read out loud. They asked me to read anything from her diary. I opened the book to a random page and read. It was from Junior grade "I always am watching him, wishing he was mine. He doesn't look at me in a way that I could tell he likes me. He doesn't look at me that way. I want to be more than friends. I wish he loved me. I wanted to tell him that i wanted him, but i am just too shy and in reality i just don't know why. I MISS YOU!!! "

My best friend!!!

Do you have anyone whom you want to call as your best friend? Before answering let me ask you who you would like to call a best friend. A simple answer which most of you will agree to is –“Someone to whom you share everything and who knows you better than anyone else”. I have a best friend, a girl to whom I share everything; I mean almost everything starting from my wild fantasies to crazy thoughts. She too shares most things about her, not sure know how much but definitely more than she shares with anyone. She is, in fact, the only open door of the most introvert person god has ever created on this planet to the outside world.

You must be wondering she must be my girlfriend. Well no, she is not my girlfriend. Both of us understand very well that we will never be good as a partner because we know too much about each other including things we are not suppose to know about our partner.

However since both of us are single, many thought we are going around. She is pretty and has many admirers. Obviously they are jealous and insecure about me. Perhaps they want to occupy my place but I am sure they cannot because of the simple fact that they do not feel the same as I do about her. I had been in similar place as they are now. Once I desperately wanted and tried to be close friend of someone, to whom I wanted to share everything and whom I wanted her to share everything to me. Because of the very fact that I admired her, she couldn’t give me the place. I do not blame her for that.

We were available for each other during our down times and I hope we can do so forever. People say a guy and a girl can never be a good friend and I grew up with the same belief until I met her. I don’t know how far that is true. I don’t know if our partners will be able to understand our friendship. But as long as we can, we will be best friend.

The 10 steps Manipur

Steps

  1. Step 1. Innocent civilians murdered in cold blooded by those who are supposed to be their protectors. The fatal sins of victims are usually simple:-
    1. Built a concrete house, had a 4 wheeler vehicle or hold some high post in a Government office. He couldn’t pay full extortion money or didn’t agree to give the fund allocated to his office to the militants.
    2. Was waiting for school bus or visit his ill relative at a hospital. He was standing few meters away from patrolling party of Central security force personals who were attacked by Militants.
    3. Had Rs. 20000 in his pocket for his sister's marriage and found by State Security Forces who had paid Rs. 2-3 lakh to get the job for Rs. 5000 / month.
  1. Step 2. Form Joint Action Committee (JAC), submit memorandum to The Chief Minister of the State, call general strike, bandh and blockade.
  1. Step 3. The Chief Minister calls meeting, gives press conference and gives the trademark speech “We condemn the killing and killers will not be spared”. Then announces ex-gratia, job offer to kids and kin of the victim.
  1. Step 4. JAC with the help of brave Meira Paibis, the brave sons and daughters of the state organizes dharna, protest and rally.
    1. Be more violent if the killers are security forces
    2. Burn the whole state if the victim was related to a militant group.
    3. No need to continue for long if the victim is non-Manipuri or the killers are Militants.
  1. Step 5. Human rights activists
    1. Involve only if the killing is by Security forces
    2. No need to involve if the killers are militants or the victims are non-Manipuri.
  1. Step 6. The so called intellectual population, famous for solving chicken and hen problem, starts writing on email and internet.
    1. Write in local newspapers too if the killers are Security forces.
  1. Step 7. Deputy Commissioners of various districts impose curfew and declare CRPC 144.
  1. Step 8. The killers justify killing using old speech.
    1. Militants – “The person was enemy of the state and did actions against the interest of the people. So he was awarded capital punishment”
    2. Central Security forces - “Some militants hurled bombs or fired at them and they fired in retaliation. Innocents were killed in cross firing ”
    3. State Security forces - “Started firing while stopped. Killed in retaliation. Found country made gun and grenade”
  1. Step 9. The families of the victim don’t claim the body for some time and but claim a few days later after pressure from various angles and perform the last rites with a mass protest rally on Shraddha day.
  1. Step 10. In few weeks, time to forget
    1. Moon doesn’t stop revolving around the earth, so are the festivals and all people jump in to celebrate as if nothing has happened. Killings will happen, but festival comes once in a year. Why should we miss?
    2. No festival? Then another killing, forget the last one and get everybody ready to start from Step1.

Hats off to Indian Media !!!

23 February 2009

Three unclaimed bodies has been lying in the morgue of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal since Feb. 17. The bodies bore the signs of brutal torture, head bludgeoned with spade and then smashed with a rock. One among them is Dr. Thingnam Kishan, a great scholar turned civil administrator posted in a remote village in Manipur. His mistake - he stood against diversion of development funds by the mighty extortionists, the self-proclaimed saviors of the region, popularly known in common man's parlance inner government and more powerful than the democratically elected government. He did something which no one, not even the Chief Minister of the state, dared to do. The other two were his subordinate staff.

The incident brought the already troubled state into complete standstill since last four days because of bandhs, strikes and curfews. Demanding justice, family members refused to claim the bodies and rejected the ex-gratia. With no transportations and markets closed, the state has turned into a hell on earth. Essential commodities are not reaching the state. People are not having enough food to eat. Families of vegetable vendors who buy 1-2kg of rice everyday by selling their vegetables are starving now. The schools and colleges in the whole state are closed.

But what is more shocking than the incident and the situation following it, is the fact that the national media, as usual, is ignorant of the situation. Perhaps, Jawaharlal Nehru's " Jewel of India" and "The birth place of modern day polo", is not as important and as valuable as SRK's shoulder. Dr. Thingnam was as Indian as S Manjunath, a sales manager of IOC, who also met the same fate a few years back with the media taking up the issue. Dr. Thingnam belongs to Manipur whose people praise for the Indian cricket team, the state whose sportspersons still proudly represent India in all international events. But one fails to understand why so much partiality by the mainstream media in at least following brutal and cruel murder of an upright officer who has now become a hero? Is it because Manipur contribute very little to the mad rush for TRPs by the news channels, buys less copies of newspaper and appeal less interest to the sponsors of the corporate media? Is heroism defined and measured only by acts of people closer to Indian media? Does the cry of 30 lakh population have anything do with anyone in India?

Picture: Dr Kishan unfurling Indian flag at an Independence Day Celebration

Interestingly the Chinese media seems to be more keen on the incident and did not hesitate to report it. The New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV), News Channel from China, crossed hundred of miles, political and geographical barrier to report the incident. See news report from Chinese media. I hope the world does not laugh hearing the much hyped term "Superpower India" when the people of the country does not even know the boundary of their own country and not aware of what is happening inside their country. Thanks to the responsible Indian media. Hats off to you!!

Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) - 2

On the behalf of Linux-Manipur for e-pao.net

Continue ...

Having gained some knowledge about Free and Open source software, now the big question to answer is "Why should one use Free and Open Source Software?"

This question can be answered from two different perspectives - one from the perspective of general users who may or may not have knowledge or interest about how software works internally and another from that of software developers, i.e. those who has some knowledge or interest about the software. The former includes the latter.

License agreement of most proprietary software outlines many restrictions on a user in terms of sharing, redistribution, nature of use of software. Some examples, in simple language, include users are not allowed to share his software; they no allowed to use the software other than the purpose it is bought for; they are not allowed to sell it or rent it or redistribute in other form.

In common man language it is like saying you buy a table but you have to use in the way the carpenter wants you to use it; you are not allowed to modify it based on your needs; you are not allowed to use it for some other purpose and when you no longer need it you cannot sell it.

Violation of any of these restrictions (outlined in the license agreement) is termed an offence of software piracy, a cognizable crime punishable user Section 63 of Indian Copyright Act, 1957 and its extended Copyright (Amendment) Act 1994 on Computer Programmes, and section 78 and 79 of the Trade Marks Act, 1994. All forms of software piracy now fall within the ambit of the Indian Copyright Act.

The law now prescribes a minimum punishment of seven days imprisonment, which may be extended up to three years, and a substantial fine up to Rs. 50,000 for such offence. On being convicted on the second and subsequent occasions the offender faces a minimum sentence of one year, extendable up to three years and at least Rs. 100,000 fine extendable to Rs. 200,000.

You, as a good citizen, may now test yourself if you can be convicted on software piracy or not. Did you pay $199 (Rs. 8000) for installing Windows on your personal computer or $185 (Rs. 7500) for using MS-Windows office? If not, you are a criminal under cyber law.

Another test, have you ever shared your software (Windows or windows office) to any of your friends? Have you ever installed the same copy of software to another computer which may or may not be owned by you? If so, you have done a punishable offence and may wait for your turn to go to prison.

There is another aspect of software from the perspective of software developers who see software not only as a tool to help him in his work but also as a way enhance his knowledge. He has knowledge well as interest about how software works and wants to modify and enhance it to suite his needs.

He also wants to redistribute the software so that others will benefit from his enhancement. But he is not able to do all these in Proprietary Software.

Firstly, proprietary software developers have no obligation to show their source code and most of them do not show it. In short, no one is allowed to study and understand how the software works internally and modify it. Secondly, proprietary software gives lot of restrictions through their strict licensing agreement which denies freedom to share, modify or redistribute the software.

Free and open source software guarantees its users all freedom and protects them from cyber law through license terms which does not contain any restrictions as in proprietary software. The founders of the movement called it Copyleft, a reverse of Copyright.

Free and open software movement fights for the rights of software user, in simple term rights of all computer users. User will pay the money for the software, but he should have freedom to use it, freedom to study how it works internally, freedom to change in based on his needs, freedom to share it to whoever needs it.

It is right time we start using Free and Open source software before we are force to use them or, in worst case, fall in the eyes of law. The choice is yours.

Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) - 1

On the behalf of Linux-Manipur for e-pao.net

Free and Open Source Software is a term given to a collection of software* which falls under two different category 'Free software' and 'Open source software'.

Although both types of software are promoted by two different group viz. Free Software Foundation and Open Source Software, they mean almost the same thing with a little variation in definition. Together they form a completely new dimension in the way software is used.

Contrary to the general belief, free software does not mean software that comes free of cost. Free here means freedom and the liberty that a user gets in using software.

Richard Stallman, the founder of Free Software Foundation precisely clarified this myth by describing free software as "Free as in free speech, not as in free beer". Free software guarantees four basic freedoms to the users of the software:

* Freedom 0: The freedom to run the program, for any purpose
* Freedom 1: The freedom to study how the program works, and change it to your needs by accessing the source code.
* Freedom 2: The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help others. But redistribution is allowed with condition that same freedom should be given to other users.
* Freedom 3: The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community is benefited from it. Source code access should be allowed to ensure this freedom.

A program is free software if user has all these freedom. Thus, you should be free to redistribute copies, either with or without modifications, either gratis or charging a fee for distribution, to anyone anywhere. Being free to do these things means (among other things) that you do not have to ask or pay for permission.

Open Source Software as the name signifies implies software whose source are freely and easily available. It may not come up source code but the source code must be available on demand or there should be proper documentation describing how to get the source.

It also lays down guidelines for distribution of the software which, by principle, is almost the same as those as those in Free software but allows restriction, up to some extend, to the user. Open source has 10 criteria of distribution:-

* Free Redistribution: the software can be freely given away or sold.
* Source Code: The source code must either be included or freely obtainable
* Derived Works: Redistribution of modifications must be allowed.
* Integrity of the author's source code: The author may reserve the right to prevent redistribution in same name.
* No Discrimination against Persons or Groups
* No Discrimination against Fields of Endeavor: Software can be used for any purpose and in any way the users want.
* Distribution of license: The rights attached to the program must apply to all to whom the program is redistributed without the need for execution of an additional license by those parties.
* License must not be specific to a product: Software can be used as a part of other software.
* License must not restrict other software: the license cannot insist that any other software it is distributed with must also be open source.
* License must be Technology-Neutral

Free and Open Source Software guarantee users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software unlike the propriety software which not only restrict the users in using the way he want but also prevent them from sharing the software.

* Software : It is a computer program intended to help computer user for one or more purpose.
** Souce code : A term used for the program in the form which can be studied how it works and change the way it work.

Apocalypto review

What Mel Gibson cannot see.

You can see the spear bending. You can also see the poistion of the spear change on his body.

________________________________________________________________

This guy was killed near the well by the hero. He is suppose to be dead. You can see him breathing.
_________________________________________________________________

It seems he did some rework on his tattoos while following his son's killer. See the mark on the ,which is not there in other scenes.
__________________________________________________________________

This guy had severe cuts at the time of capture. But the marks are gone when he is about to be sacrificed. Mel Gibson is economical-No extra makeup for dead man.
______________________________________________________________

Compare the size of the locket. Has he eaten some part on the way:-).

______________________________________________________________

The arrow which the hero broke is shorter than the one pierced into the villian's neck.
__________________________________________________________________

Some legs are missing. But they never cut the legs.
_____________________________________________________________

This guy has a different ear rings at a particular scene.
__________________________________________________________________

The villian wears different type of belt at two different scenes.
_________________________________________________________________

The star at his chest, which is suppose to be parmanent is gone. It will reappear in another scenes again.

See the drawing at the chest of this guy.

See where the cutting starts and where the mark starts.

This is the best of all.

You won't believe it. This is a scene from Apocalypto. See frame by frame the part when hero falls into the human body disposal area. You can even see a body compressed like a ballon.

Dreams Unrealised

“Rise high, higher than the sky;
Shine bright, brighter than the sun;”

One’s dream is boundless. So is mine. Life keep going dreams keep coming; few realized; many dies with time; but some remain rooted deep into the heart that they even become stronger than their creator himself. Sometimes I hate giving up but I hate more looking back at the dreams which I have given up.

Being an introvert person, I don’t share my dreams to anyone, not even to the God. In fact this is the first instance in am talking about my dreams.

Started with the dream to fly high in the sky, dream of becoming a fighter pilot. Bedtime used to ask my mother what I should do to become a pilot. She said to become a pilot you have to do big calculations in your head. Then my interest for mathematics started even though I was never good at it.

Prepared for NDA. But motivation & encouragement was lacking. I didn’t even make an attempt. But nothing in life can quench the thirst of soaring high into the sky.

In class IX, I suddenly got a strong interest to Mathematics. I did give maximum effort on it. Did learn many things and started dreaming of becoming a great mathematician, someone like Aryabhatta, Ramanujan, Euler etc. But my academic improvement was only on Mathematics related subjects. I remained very weak in literature & allied subjects, where I need more of writing skills than knowledge.

After X another big dream came, dream of getting into IIT. It became the top priority & my ultimate aim. 2 years, I was almost a book worm, caring little about the world outside and the world around. But couldn't get through in first attempt. Wanted to go for coaching class & try again.

2001, XII exams results came much below the expectation. Score was not enough to get into REC (now NIT). Only few options remained one mom’s choice, go for engineering and other my choice; go for further studies in Mathematics. The latter was ruled out as job prospect is less.

Result of Engineering Entrance exams came good, got the branch of my choice as well as the place. But heart was not willing to take it. Wanted to take risk by spending one year in IIT preparation. I tried to convince my mother telling that my score was very good even without any coaching class . I can get through it if I go for a coaching. But mommy was not ready. She was too stubborn and knew how to convince me. She gave financial reason as one reason. I was not ready to give up. Took all the IIT entrance exams books to Coimbatore, where I got the seat for Computer Science Engineering. But couldn’t maintain gave effort to it because of the hectic schedule of college and the new hostel environment.

Then started the fours years of College life, a life in a new world. Realized many of my weakness, learn many lessons of life.

The dreams of getting into the premier institution of the country remained then. Started buying GATE books in first year. My efforts were not up to the mark. Finally after making 2 unsuccessful attempts to GATE exam, I gave up my long dream. But I 'll never feel regret about it later in my life because I tried for it.

Those were my academic related dreams. I call them ambitious dreams. I do have some realistic dreams too.

I have a dream to meet the greatest creation of mankind, the great Pyramid. Nothing fascinates me more than it. I am sure I will be there at least once before my body turn into ashes. Don’t remember exactly when this fascination started, perhaps longer than I can remember. Among friends sometimes we talk about our Honeymoon, some says Kashmir; some says Goa; someone likes Switzerland; for some it’s their sweet homeland but mine is always Egypt, where some lifeless stones are waiting for me for thousands of years.

I dream of being at the highest point on this earth, need not be the Mount Everest (I am too weak to climb it). A place where every creature on the earth can see me and I can see evryone. I believe God did not think about it when he created the Universe. So I 'll create the place myself and I 'll be there one day. I call this a poetic engineer’s dream.

Well only these much in this sleepy afternoon after a heavy lunch (2 aloo parothas ), when boss is on leave, no friends online and can’t remember any good website to browse. I hope readers will appreciate my sincere effort to control my sleep and unfaithful advantage of my boss’s absence.

As always comments are always welcome.

My First Blog

This is my first blog. I don't know what people usually write in their blogs. I guess it is same as writing diary. I write diary everyday, I mean almost everyday. Usually I write about my secrets feelings. Ya of course my love too which I prefer to keep secret.

Since yesterday I am feeling emptiness and lack for something, a kind of feeling which you have while leaving home for a long trip. Reason being my brother went back to Manipur yesterday morning. He was with me for arounf 3 months. He cares me a lot. In his presence I feel I got homely care which I am missing in this land, far away from my sweet home. At the same time I could see him in big tension as he is not able to get job. He came here with the hope to see some good career option. Even though there were many opportunities there were many reasons he couldnot take them into his heart. One being he is married and my sister in law is far away in home. The other reason is my mother doesn't like both her sons staying far from her. He felt the options were not worth enough the above two things.

These days bad luck is sallying on me. Lost my purse two times in 3 weeks. First one with debit card and credit card. Had a big problem withdrawing money. Second time I lost my prepaid SIM card, which I am have newly changed from postpaid. Now I have to change my mobile number. I feel like cursing my carelessness. Anyway take it as a lesson. Hope the bad lucks dies with the year, 2005.

Thats all about my first blog. Hope some crazy net surfer come across my dream world. I am looking forward to good comment from readers whoever known or unknown to me.
